Morehouse was founded in 1867 in Augusta, Ga.  The College relocated to Atlanta in 1879. Morehouse’s historic campus, located on 66 sprawling acres near downtown Atlanta, is home to iconic buildings and monuments that honor the College’s great legacy.  But the institution known for producing the best and brightest is so much more than a collection of buildings and monuments; it is an academic village where leaders are forged and scholars are inspired. The oldest building on campus, Graves Hall, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and its readily identifiable tower is used in the College’s logo. The newest building on campus, the stately Leadership Center at Morehouse College, is poised to become the epicenter of global leadership development. One of Morehouse’s top priorities is renovating existing structures on campus and adding new buildings, including the proposed Morehouse College Center for the Arts, a high-tech facility designed to benefit the College’s illustrious, internationally renowned music program. Donor support helps create an environment where the teaching-learning enterprise can flourish and grow. Gifts to Morehouse improve the learning environment for the next generation of young scholars.
